Teaching
I find it deeply fulfilling to share with students what powerful tools economics provides to make sense of complex real-world developments. My teaching philosophy is rooted in recognition that students arrive at economics courses with widely varying goals and aptitudes. A well-run course should deepen each student's appreciation for thinking about the world in this way and their capacity to do so. I try to facilitate that growth by providing students as clear a roadmap as possible for meeting their individual goals and being an accessible collaborator in their success. For more details, see my teaching statement.

"The quality of instruction in this course was excellent, and was the best among any economics discussion section I have taken. It substantially furthered my knowledge and understanding of, as well as my interest in, the subject matter."
"Kelsey was an amazing GSI! He is patient, explains material clearly, and is kind to his students. When students have questions, he ensures that they are answered thoroughly, even if the answer seems obvious."
